Classic Cucumber Salad

Cucumber salad is one of those dishes that resembles summer time fun, family picnics, and a prosperous garden. Growing cucumbers has never been easier than with the outdoor Solaris Garden hydroponic system. For the first time ever, I was able to grow a basket full of cucumbers without going to battle with any garden pests!

Below is my favorite way to prepare a classic cucumber salad.

Ingredients:

2-3 large cucumbers (home grown is best)

1/2 cup vinegar of your choice ( I think cucumbers pair well with white vinegar and a splash of apple cider vinegar)

1/3 cup of water

Dash of fine salt and black pepper

Dash or two of white pepper

Prepare:

1. Slice each cucumber to your desired thickness.

2. In a large shallow serving dish, mix water, vinegar, spices, and cucumber slices.

3. Serve and enjoy! (This dish is best served once the cucumbers have been marinating in the vinegar mix for at least 5 minutes.)

Feel free to fancy up this dish with thinly sliced white onions or small edible flowers. Either way, cucumber salad will always be a refreshing reward from the garden.
